Alex has been sort of absent for a couple of weeks, since her and Darlington finally got their acts together. Mostly, she's just been wrapped up in being in a proper relationship (and having really fucking good sex) for the first time in her life. But now, she's starting to get back to her life, back to her friends and, when she texts Nova and asks him if he wants to go out dancing after her shift, she's pleased when he says yes.

"We'll see," says Alex, with a smirk, taking another swallow of her soda. "Come on. Let's get you settled. I'll dance for you, and then I've got another slot on the main stage, and then we're good to go. If you don't mind waiting that long?"

Nova laughs at the idea of getting settled at a strip joint. Like they're at the barbershop instead and all the chairs are full so he has to wait a minute. He thinks Alex can see the humor in it too.

"Jeez, having to wait it out for you in the middle of a strip club. How the hell am I gonna keep busy?"

"I know, right? Sucks to be you." Alex nudges him in the direction of an empty booth. "Okay, so." She sits down beside him, sipping her drink. "First question. How comfortable are you with me naked? "Context's a bit different, isn't it?" she says, sipping her drink, glancing at her watch and checking how she's doing for her break. "You want me to keep my bikini on or not?"

"Keep it on," he teases. "Let a guy have a little mystery." Nova's not sure why it matters to him, since they both know better. But there's still a part of him that's convinced that if he goes too far, he'll end up back in a prison jumper. That shit imprints on a man's DNA.

"What? You don't want to see Wednesday Addam's tits?" she asks, affecting a pout and flipping one of her braids over her shoulder. "Spoilsport."

"Yeah, but I like you anyway," she says, knocking back the rest of her drink and standing just as a song ends. "Do I need to do a refresher on the rules, or are you good?" A new song starts and Alex's hips pick up the rhythm, a slow sway.

"Hands to myself, no starting shit, no pissing off the talent?" Nova guesses. Like he'd think of doing anything stupid with Alex. Even if there weren't bouncers at the door, she'd probably have him out on his ass in seconds if he did her wrong.
