From his place in the doorway, he holds up the gift bag. "Brought her somethin'. Beverly wrapped it, though, I'm crap at stuff like that. She was giving me shit for not actually wrapping the gift properly inside the bag."
Mostly she had just been laughing at him, but he likes that. Being laughed at by a kid who used to not laugh all that much feels pretty nice.
