The way the story starts, it's not so different from some crime scenes Hopper has attended and sometimes he thinks a lot of the people here in Darrow forget who he's been before. A soldier in Vietnam, where he did some awful fucking things. A homicide detective in New York during a bad time for that city.
A father who watched his daughter die in front of him.
What Alex has to say might be awful, but it's hard to scar him these days.
